The EBS-30 has an extremely low power consumption. The base station communicates over a 802.15.4 based protocol. Up to 5000 ESL labels can be connected to a single base station (with default ESL settings). This can even be increased by using longer poll intervals. The two Ethernet ports enable easy daisy chaining.
